Terms
Terms of use
The simple rules for using CadetDeck. They apply to every member, from cadets to administrators.
In short
- CadetDeck is a squadron tool, not an official CAP system.
- It is for members of Mustang Cadet Squadron. Use only your own account and keep your PIN private.
- Answer honestly. Keep what you type short and general: it is saved permanently.
- Staff and administrators can see more, so they must use it only for squadron business.
- Alerts are a bonus. Check CadetDeck yourself every Wednesday night.
- Never use CadetDeck to report an emergency or a safety concern. Tell a trusted adult leader, or call 911.
What CadetDeck is, and what it is not
CadetDeck is the Mustang Cadet Squadron's tool for the weekly Calldown, attendance, Special Requests and reports. It is made and run by Sebastian Castro Dombi, a squadron member who also serves as an administrator.
CadetDeck has no chat. Squadron conversation happens in GroupMe, which is a separate service with its own rules. CadetDeck only links to the groups, and these terms do not cover what is said there.
CadetDeck is not an official Civil Air Patrol system. It does not replace eServices or any official CAP record, and it does not change any CAP rule. Civil Air Patrol and its marks belong to Civil Air Patrol. CadetDeck is a Beta (version 1.0), so features, wording and timing can change as the squadron learns what works.
Who can use it
CadetDeck is for current members of Mustang Cadet Squadron. You can sign in only if an administrator has put you on the squadron roster. When you leave the squadron, or a roster update no longer lists you, your access ends.
By signing in you agree to these terms and to the Privacy and data use page. If you do not agree, do not use CadetDeck, and tell a staff member so your squadron can find another way to take your Calldown.
Your account and your PIN
- You sign in with your own CAPID and your own six-digit PIN. Use only your own account.
- Never share your PIN, not even with a friend or a staff member. Staff never need it. Nobody, including administrators, can read it.
- Only an administrator can give you a one-time code to set or reset a PIN. If anyone else offers you one, or asks for your PIN, tell an administrator.
- Everything done under your sign-in is recorded as you. If you think someone else used your account, tell a staff member right away and change your PIN from the Account menu.
- Sign out when you use a shared phone or computer. CadetDeck also signs you out after 15 minutes without activity.
Answering the Calldown
- Answer honestly and as soon as you know. Your answer helps staff plan the meeting.
- The Calldown opens Wednesday at 9:00 PM and closes Friday at 11:59 PM (Mountain Time). After that you can send one Late answer, with a reason, until 6:30 PM on meeting day. A Late answer is final.
- Leave is an approved absence and can only be set by Executive Staff or an administrator.
- A Special Request is a request, not an approval. A staff member reviews it and tells you the decision in CadetDeck. Nobody can approve their own request.
- If a staff member or administrator corrects a record, the correction, the reason and who made it are kept.
What you may type into CadetDeck
Late reasons, Special Requests, Staff Notes and flight and PT plans are saved permanently and cannot be removed later (see Privacy). So:
- Keep it general. Say “Sick” or “Family matter” and no more. Do not enter medical details, accident or family details, or anything private about yourself or anyone else.
- Be respectful. Do not enter anything harassing, threatening, hateful, sexual or untrue.
- Staff Notes are short, factual and professional, written as if the member could one day read them.
- A flight plan or PT plan you upload is a squadron document: the same rules apply to it, including what it says about cadets promoting. A new version never replaces the old one.
Using it properly
Do not:
- try to see or change anyone else's information, or use a feature you have not been given;
- guess PINs or codes, get around the sign-in limits, or test the system for weaknesses (if you find a problem, tell an administrator);
- overload, copy in bulk, or interfere with CadetDeck;
- use CadetDeck for anything other than squadron business.
Report a problem you find, even if you found it by accident. Telling us is always the right move.
Extra rules for staff and administrators
Flight Commanders, Flight Sergeants, Executive Staff and administrators can see other members' information. That access is a trust.
- Look only at what you need for your job, and use it only for squadron business.
- Do not share what you see (names, answers, notes, requests, exports or screenshots) with anyone who is not entitled to it. Close or delete exports when you are done.
- Follow Civil Air Patrol's rules, including youth protection, in everything you write or do here.
- Every change you make is saved in a permanent audit history with your name and the time. Administrators and Executive Staff correct a record only with a reason.
- Misuse can mean losing access, and may be reported to squadron leadership.
Not for emergencies or safety concerns
CadetDeck is not monitored around the clock and must never be used to report an emergency, abuse, bullying or a worry about someone's safety. Report a problem in the Account menu is only for problems with the app itself, and is read only when an administrator next checks. Tell a trusted adult leader in person, follow Civil Air Patrol's youth protection reporting steps, or call 911 in an emergency.
Alerts are a bonus
Alerts are optional and can be late, missed or blocked by your phone. Checking CadetDeck yourself each Wednesday night is your responsibility, not something an alert replaces. Alerts are sent from 7 AM to 10 PM Mountain Time, except for an urgent one from an administrator.
Records
Calldown answers, Special Requests, Staff Notes, flight and PT plans and the audit history are kept as squadron records and are described on the Privacy and data use page. Because they are permanent, you cannot edit or delete an entry once it is saved.
Availability and changes
CadetDeck is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always work, be on time or be free of mistakes. If something important depends on it, such as telling the squadron you cannot attend, also tell a staff member. To the extent the law allows, CadetDeck and its maker are not responsible for a missed or late alert, a delay, or a lost or wrong entry. Nothing here limits any right you have by law or any Civil Air Patrol rule.
We may change, pause or remove features, and update the schedule or rules, to keep it working or to match squadron needs. Administrators can pause sign-in for everyone but themselves in an emergency.
Who owns CadetDeck
CadetDeck, its design and its code are © 2026 Sebastian Castro Dombi, all rights reserved. Squadron members may use it for squadron business as these terms allow. Please do not copy it, resell it or present it as your own. The Mustang Cadet Squadron patch and the Civil Air Patrol name and marks belong to their owners.
Suspending or ending access
An administrator can suspend or end your access if these terms are broken, if your account may be at risk, or when you leave the squadron. You can stop using CadetDeck at any time; ask a staff member if you want your account made inactive.
Changes to these terms, and questions
When these terms change, the date at the bottom of the page changes, and important changes are announced in CadetDeck. Questions or concerns? Ask any staff member or administrator.
